Maria Moon Music CIC
Musical Arts
Maria Moon Music CIC is a community music charity re imagining alternative music education from birth to children under 6 years of age.
Based in Shoeburyness, Essex in east England, we design inclusive, play based music sessions that bring together babies, toddlers, preschoolers and their grown ups to learn, connect and thrive through music. Our programmes blend singing, movement, early communication (including Makaton) and simple instruments to support language, social skills, emotional regulation and school readiness in the first six years of life.
Led by founder and director Maria Moreira Edwards, an experienced music educator and community practitioner, Maria Moon Music CIC partners with families, early years settings, childminders and community organisations to reduce isolation and make high quality music education accessible to all.
We currently offer: Weekly early years music groups for birth to 18months 18 months–3 and 3–6 in Shoeburyness and local venues, including discounted 4 week packs for regular attendance. Inclusive and neurodiversity affirming sessions with visual, sensory and communication support. Bespoke projects for nurseries, schools and community partners who want to embed music into everyday practice.
Maria Moon Music CIC exists so that music making and learning in the early years is not a privilege for the few, but a joyful, everyday reality for every child and family.
